Cord Magazine Keeps Its Arms Open.
Ahhhh summer time, could there be anything more wonderful? The offices at the Cord Mag world headquarters are abuzz… but we're not sure if it's because of the warm weather, or the lunchtime patio beers we just knocked back.
We kid, we kid…
Perhaps, the real reason Cord Mag is abuzz right now is because things are taking off!
Cord Mag is quickly approaching its 3rd month of operations and we're enjoyably amazed by the overwhelming response we've received from artists, labels, and most importantly, the readers. We're beyond grateful for the accolades and interest in the things we're doing, and because of this we're inspired, motivated, and taking things to the next level. Not to sound like an infomercial, but… you've spoken, and we've heard you loud and clear. We're bang-on, and on to something good, we're ready to work together to make it even better, and build a sense of community. Over the next few months we'll be adding more features and functionality to your Cord experience. All of this will equate to loads more content featuring bands you love, and bands on the verge which you'll soon enough love.
This month we've got some amazing features. We've discussed and reviewed heaps of CD's including Loretta Lynn, Eagles of Death Metal, and Statistics. We checked out countless live shows, including the likes of The Vines, Rufus Wainwright, and those Canadian hardcore darlings, Alexisonfire.
But we didn't stop there… we sat down and chatted with amazing bands like The Distillers, The Shins, and Vancouver locals, Motion Soundtrack. And of course, we had more than a few laughs with our 10 questions segment as we interviewed artists like Wil, Danny Michel, and evening.
And that's just the beginning of the month. With each week we'll be rolling out fresh new content throughout the month of June. In the next few weeks you'll see interviews featuring quality acts such as Muse, Metric, and Hawksley Workman.
Yup, things really are taking off… and we couldn't be more excited. Now get going, start tearing through the new articles, hit up the forum, and let us know what you think. Oh and while you're at it, be sure to enter the free-stuff give-a-ways, rock out with our streaming music player, and check out the daily blog packed with more than enough daily music news and views. We're beginning to find a voice, you're getting into new bands, and this is what it's all about. Now bring on the summer!
Best,
Andy & Rob
