Okay, so it's Six Questions...
(Cord Magazine's questions are in blue. Artist responses are in grey.)
What’s the one interview question you could care less to hear again?
I don’t know if there’s one, but there are definitely types of questions that are asking me to justify my life in a way, or asking me to look back on a time and give an explanation for it. I mean when someone is asking about changes and why stuff happens, I don’t feel those are things I can ever offer much to.
What was your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
I work nights at a bar, so I don’t see mornings. To be honest, I don’t actually have a TV right now either, so I have no way to answer that question.
What did you want to be when you were growing up (besides musician)? Did you ever do anything to attain that?
I’m coming to terms with it now: I never wanted to do what I’m doing, it’s always been an interest rather than something I’ve always done. When I was a little kid, I wanted to be a vet or something. I wouldn’t even have made it as that anyway, my head just doesn’t work on those levels.
If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be, and what would you hope to accomplish?
It would be nice to see what a woman’s day is like; I guess I’d like to go as far away from where I am. A woman seems like an obvious answer, but maybe it would be like a dwarf-man in Tanzania.
A shark and a bear fight. Here are the rules: There’s just enough water for the shark to live, and there’s a small rock in the middle of the water for the bear to stand on. Neither has been trained, and neither has been fed for a few days. It's the baddest of grizzly bears against the baddest of Great White sharks. Who wins?
I’m gonna say the bear, solely because the bear fishes, and the shark doesn’t fish out of water. The bear would approach it with all the instinct ingrained in it…
If you could ask me one question, what would it be?
What do your folks do?
My dad’s an engineer, and my mom stays at home. Pretty sheltered.
Are you from Vancouver then?
Yes, in the suburbs.
Is this considered the suburbs?
No, it took me an hour and a half to drive here from the East.
Wow.
