This is unexpectedly noisy and really quite terrifying. It has the same initially disconcerting qualities as Alexisonfire. The music behind it is really good, a bit doom + gloom, and the vocals are unintelligible screams and groans. I'm not sure what to make of it. Death metal in a gentle pale blue emo package... Breather Resist is really really different from what I could have possibly ever expected. I refuse to choose lyrics (cant hear) or songs (all sound the same) because this is really not my deal and I don't think it's fair for me to proplery critique as such. It's weirdly jammy, aimlessly wanking. It just sounds poorly constructed, hastily-done. The artwork is really cool though. "Long Nights Short Fuses" is okay, with this interesting chanting group yell. The music is absolutely bonkers.. I don't like the wanky jamout bits, but if the volume is up it's much better.... I guess that makes sense. When it's quiet, there's not enough room for the more musical bits to come out and it just plain sounds like noise. The music actually has some great bits in the background. It's all overshadowed though by the yelling. Well the album got me talking/analyzing so I guess it did it's job.
Song of choice : Okay okay I'll choose one - "Long Nights Short Fuses" is the best track on this.
