Leviride
Nothing's Getting Better.

Release Date : February, 2004.
Label: Northern Light Records.
Rating: Andy doesn't dig rating stuff.

Leviride has a total Morrissey deal going on, with the throaty voice, gentle but punchy songs. "In Flames" builds to a really great tense jumpy ending. I like this lots. The first tune was maybe a bit clumsy but it warmed up in a hurry. Nice riff opening "And Then I Depart". Thrumming, great vocal growl. It's a bit frenetic, but that's what makes it cool. It has that Morrissey intensity, but updated. Or like a male PJ Harvey. Nice outro and gorgeous strings on the hidden track 11. It's a neat sort of oldschool emo album. Definitely a keeper, and shucks, they should be releasing something new awful soon!

Song of choice : I think I have to vote for the hidden track, whatever it's called!
