The Apparitions
As This Is Futuristic.

Release Date : January 24, 2006.
Label: Machine Records.
Rating: Andy doesn't dig rating stuff.

Instant fun. Just a goofy bunch of voices and some idle hand claps. Little country, little house-of-mirrors. If you listen to the words, I mean, it's not gibberish, but it's kind of silly. I've got it, the vocals are somewhat Cat Stevens-ish. Monkeys, God and robots... well you know this is a weird record. Plenty of hallucinogens and late nights or something. It's spacey and fuzzy and drifty... weirdly relaxing yet jarring at the same time. The songs read like roleplayer game plots or something. Completely goofy. And definitely 60's-ish.

Song of choice : I rather like "Cemetaries" for the out-of-control wailing vocals near the end.
