Beautiful singer-songwriter stuff, a little dirty country, a little rock n' roll. Somewhere in a Tom Petty/Bruce Springsteen range. "Don't Think Twice" carries with it an interesting instrumental approach - gentle guitar, chimes, or is that a childrens' xylophone? Walker's voice is soft and whispery, rolling along almost jazz-like. Some of the songs, like "Sleepin Around," sound (appropriately) scandalous and dangerous. And the rusty scoundrel comes out on "Preacher." It's a prairie album!
Song of choice :
"39 Stars" has a gorgeous and home-bound quality to it.
