(Cord Magazine's questions are in blue. Artist responses are in grey.)

Cord: What do you do in your spare time?

Danny: Like touring, you mean?

C: Whenever.

D: I cook food, drink alcohol, look after my kids, I dunno, watch telly. Bits and bobs. Go to the seaside.

C: The Seaside?

D: In south of England.

C: Oh nice. And what is your vice of choice?

D: At the moment, probably alcohol and cigarettes, but it changes.

C: What is your favorite venue or city to play in?

D: Vancouver. I really like the Troubadour in LA. I don’t really like the city. But it’s a big old venue that’s been around for years and has a really good vibe.

C: What are some issues or aspects of the world that most concern you at this point?

D: Um, I dunno…

C: He barely knows who is today!

D: I feel really badly for kids who grow up in sort-of violent house-holds and don’t really get the chance to explore themselves, or are brought up in a way that they’re not allowed to be, you know, different. But, it happens every where and you can’t do much about it, but I think it’s really sad.

C: What is one question you could care less to hear again?

D: One question I could what?

C: Care less to hear again.

D: Good question…I don’t know (laughing) I don’t know…maybe, um, I can’t think straight. Really terrible! Maybe let me think about it and I’ll answer that one later.

C: What was your favorite childhood cartoon?

D: Um, The Mysterious Cities of Gold!

C: Wow, never heard of that. They must be British.

D: I dunno. I think they’re Japanese. They’re dubbed and they talk really fast and they don’t have any accents (does impersonation) you know those ones? I dunno if they’re Japanese or, Hey! (talking to band Pilotdrift walking by) Do you remember Mysterious Cities of Gold?

Pilotdrift: No, have you heard of the Andy Griffith Show?

D: (asking Cord) have you heard of Andy Griffith?

C: Yes!

D: (to Pilotdrift) What did I ask you earlier on? Have you heard of Bilko? (then asking us) Have you heard of Bilko?

C: No.

Pilotdrift: What did you just ask us again…Mysterious what?

D: Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Pilotdrift: Weird English stuff!

D: No! I think its Japanese!

C: (everyone is laughing at this point) What did you want to be when you were growing up besides a musician?

D: A Jockey…I don’t know if I really wanted to be, but when I was really young maybe. And I had my own babysitting company when I was around 15- 16.

C: Oh nice!

D: Or um, a gynecologist…

C: Really?

D: No! I liked to massage people when I was young. But the babysitting thing got a bit weird with this divorcing mother…

C: Did you used to do that with the other band members?

D: No, I didn’t employ anyone…it was my own company.

C: If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would I be and why?

D: Hmm, I reckon my son Frankie, because he’s so mad, and he doesn’t care. It’s really good.

C: It would be interesting. You’d know what he actually thought of you!

D: Yeah! It’d be great to know what he actually thought of me.

C: Shark vs. Bear?

D: (laughs) How shallow [is the pool]? Did you make this up?

C: No.

D: What a strange question. Um, could the shark move around?

C: Just barely.

D: I think maybe the shark.

C: Really? Everyone chooses the bear.

D: I don’t think the bear’s mouth would actually be big enough to do any damage.

Andy: I’d go with shark myself.

D: Yeah, really. I’ll just say shark.

C: And if you could ask me a question, what would it be?

D: What’s your name again?

C: Amy.

D: That’s it. That’s my question.

C: That’s a good question.
