Jack Endino finally gives us his own collection of music instead of just lending his name and talents to countless, countless other groundbreaking musicians over the years. What it appears to simply be at the outset is an obviously well-recorded and flawlessly mixed collection of frantic, old-school-meets-grunge guitar rock. And I really don't think it will scurry to much out of that realm. So, it's a modern instant classic. I don't know how popular this album will end up being, despite Endino certainly being a sought-after name in the biz. But for those kids in their Docs and flannel shirts who are starting to catch the merits of a 90's resurgence, this is going to be a welcome, dark, snarly addition to the new music universe. Stupidly (and pointlessly), the thing that bugs me about this is how all-encompassingly this disc is 90's indie style, from the recording itself to the somewhat oddly laid-out Photoshop-curved album artwork. The subtle 'ROCK' spelled out on the lisence plate of a trashed car are... well, kinda corny. But hey, the guy's a legend, he can do what he likes. So, jump head-first into the mosh-pit... time to revisit your angry high school days. WOO.

Liking "Strangelove" the best so far.
