Dirty On Purpose
Hallelujah Sirens.

Release Date : June 27, 2006.
Label: North Street Records.
Rating: Great. (Screw points. To each his own!)

Dirty On Purpose! What a pleasant party this disc is proving to be in the early goings. These guys have a knack for beautiful and unique instrumentation. There's a ton of little chirps and tics going on in the background, and fantastic, beautiful effects poured lightly over the 'normal' instruments as well. The mild echo on the barely-there undertone guitar in "Your Summer Dress" is like the salt on your steak. Gorgeous, wind-through-your-hair songs. Great harmonies. The song catapults into this incredible gallop near the end. Inspiring, if I do say so myself. I definitely love it. Eek, my belly is getting fluttery listening to the fanned-out guitars in "Always Looking." It's amazing what just plain noises can do to you, and this album definitely has a profound effect on emotions.

Song of choice : Really hard to choose a favourite from this bunch, but "Your Summer Dress" grabbed me easily so let's go with that.
