Ah yes one of the modern Motley Crue's of the world. I wasn't aware these guys had (sort of) changed their name or relocated/based their operations out of LA. I'm used to it being just plain ol' Cheerleader from Toronto. Maybe that just wasn't cool enough. It's wanky and rusty and 80's style metal, dark and filled with ripped jeans, leather, and haphazard hair. The songs don't vary a helluva a lot but it'll totally keep a crowd jumping and dancing and thrusting away for the duration of a show. I mean, it's rock n roll, you're not supposed to think too hard about it, right? Really, the wanking is seriously out of control. It's pretty fun. The cover art is cheesy as all getout but I think that's sort of the point. Chains, unicorns and inverted crosses?? Unexpectedly, "Go Away" softens everything up a bit. It's a pinker, gentler Kill Cheerleader. Wow, and "Final Countdown" anybody in "Bad Habit?" And then back to where'd-the-rock-go with a swirly old rock ballad. Soft. And it ends this way... weird.
Song of choice :
I dig "Go Away" just for it's atmospheric qualities and how it stands out from the rest of the pack.
