For some reason, I really want to like this band but I just don't. Really. Not completely anyhow. I think I like what they're trying to do but I'm just not a big fan of the end result. It's an album of open, spacey, echoing gothic songs. It's very dark and regal, with Dead Can Dance guitars (very tinny) and drifty Peter Murphy vocals. I think the main problem I have with this album is that it's far too congruent. That might be the point since it seems to be a journey rather than a series of songs. But the sounds are all very interesting in an early-90's sort of way, which is appropriate because that's when these songs were originally recorded. It reminds me of a soundtrack to an 80's era fantasy film. And the album also goes on WAY too long. I'm tired by the end of this...
Song of choice :
Hmmm I dunno, just pick one, they're all the same.
