Razorlight. You know you've heard of them. Swell collection of tunes here - these
guys are hip as hell yet not in a snobby and dry manner. The songs are lively and
fun, pouring out with hip pianos and hip guitar sounds, but jazzing up the voices in
a somewhat classic INXS manner. And look at that, a real voice! Yeah I know a lot of
dudes can sing, but he sounds really slick, rather than merely 'appropriate.' Does
someone say "Come on Andy!" in the middle of "Who Needs Love?" Sweet, this song was
meant for me. How depressing! Anyhow, on we go - this is actually part of Universal
Motown, which is really interesting and outwardly makes no sense, but when you
listen to the hands-clapping-wildly jive of this album, it makes perfect sense.
Filled with big, bouncy and powerful choruses - happy-powerful though. Uplifting and
playful. "Kirby's House" is a bit dorky. But every album's gotta have one, right?
Song of choice :
"Who Needs Love" take the cake.
