Sadly, only four songs, the basic vibe of Roenik reminds me somewhat of what Canadian rock fans will remember as vintage Our Lady Peace. You know, before the squeakiness got out of hand. Take Raine Maida's distinctive stressed voice and sew it into a fabric of quick drums and lilty noises, a bit of a late-90's British styled thing. Boom, there's Roenik. Oodles of twisted electronics, breathy bits, sudden falls and dips - it's an energetic little collection of tunes that I would love to hear more of. Harmonicas and madness...
