The Next T-Shirt
The Fifth Floor.

Release Date : 2005.
Label: Independent.
Rating: None too bad!. (Screw points. To each his own!)

A little Blues Traveller and a little The Trews, The Next T-Shirt is generally pretty good, punctuated by instances of awesome and undercut with a dash of dragged-out. So it's hard to tell exactly what I think of them. "The Truce" carries an explosive chorus, with raging vocals that drive me completely wild, but the verses of the song are a bland breed of country rock that's not sleepy enough to be endearing. But the casual and delicious bluesiness and vocal waver of "Put You Away" is fabulous front to back (and who can deny a band praise after sucha a spirited 'woo!'?). "War Bride" is also dirty and exciting. But then "Dead End Love" turns around into something kind of dorky. Appealingly so though - a lot of people would liek this understated jazz-student diddle. "Valley Of The Dolls" does another 180 and is super cool. So it's hit-or-miss with them on this small collection of songs. I guess the only thing to do is see um, what's next for the Next Tshirt (oh I bet I'm original with that one).

Song of choice : "Put You Away" I find has the most impact.
